When I discovered this quote from Mr. Rogers, I felt inspired. I love how Mr. Rogers’ mother taught him to look for helpers to overcome feelings of fear. This is helpful advice for all of us, especially during times of adversity.

When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” –Fred Rogers

People who are helpers are human resources that can help us during difficult challenges as well as assist us in efforts to strengthen our abilities. Utilizing resources helps us to become stronger and more resilient.

Looking for helpers is a way to take control of our lives when chaos and stress are overwhelming.  When we find areas of control, it helps to lessen the stress that we feel.  People who are helpers can also assist us in learning new skills and techniques to improve our lives and help us to become stronger.
