My maiden name is Froelich. When I was growing up, I didn’t appreciate my maiden name very much. People often mispronounced and misspelled it; it was also hard as a young child trying to write it. As I matured, I grew to appreciate the significance of my name. A name associated with “happy” and “merry” is a wonderful reminder to me that I can find hope through hard times to find happiness again!
When people experience a difficult loss and are filled with grief, it is hard to see that one day they can be happy again. There is hope for happiness and fulfillment in life after a loss. Lives can be transformed as they grow and become stronger through the grief process.
Grief is in two parts. The first is loss. The second is the remaking of life.
